Completed in 2013, the University of Oregon’s football facility underwent a major renovation. The recreational facility is projected to be LEED certified and features some amazing amenities, such as a wall of 64 55” television screens in the main lobby, an on-site barber shop, and a coaches’ indoor hot tub.
Robinson Lumber Company’s Brazilian Walnut (Ipe) flooring was used as part of the new $68 million, 145,000 square foot football facility. Robinson’s flooring is in the Ducks’ weight room, which includes state-of-the-art equipment, a 40-yard electronic track lane, and overlooks the practice field through massive windows. Robinson’s long-time distributor, Emerson Hardwood Floors, made the sale to the installation contractor, New Dimension Hardwood Floors, who completed the installation and finishing.
Brazilian Walnut (Ipe) is a rich, exotic wood with superior hardness and durability, and ranges in color from olive brown to black, with some pieces having a reddish tint. The color and graining vary substantially and are not affected by light exposure, making this flooring perfect for the University of Oregon’s natural light filled weight room.
