Description
Brazilian Teak is a very hard and durable exotic wood with a striking appearance. It is well suited for elegant interiors, residential as well as commercial.
Color and Photo-sensitivity: Brazilian Teak has a yellow brown color which varies from a light to medium hue. It will darken slightly with exposure to light over a few months.
Janka Hardness Rating: 3,540 lbs (1,606 kg.) By comparison, Northern Red Oak is rated at 1,290 lbs. (585 kg.)
Stability: Width movement expected in a 3” face from a one percent change in moisture content is between 0.006” and 0.008”. By comparison, Northern Red Oak’s value is 0.004” to 0.010”. Due to the dense grain, very dry environments may not be optimum for Brazilian Teak.
Manufacturing Specifications: Moisture content is 6% to 8%. Weight is 4 lbs/Sqft
